New Release: Redcar Racecourse

Latest Release: Redcar Racecourse

We recently launched the latest update to Redcar Racecourse's website and we encourage you to check it out!

Redcar Racecourse website

Having been established since 1872, Redcar Racecourse has evolved over the years and is steeped in history. The first ‘Redcar Races’ took place on Redcar beach, but there are now 18 races being held each year at the luxury race course.

In a similar fashion, Redcar Racecourse had acknowledged the need to compete online with other racecourses in the area which involved giving themselves a ‘new look’ and updating their website.

The racecourse is one of Calm Digital’s longest standing clients, so the team were thrilled when they asked us to develop a rebrand to mark the kick-off of their new look. Due to their historic roots and family-led values, it was important that the new brand represented the racecourse heritage but also incorporated the thrills of a day at the races. A simplistic serif font was chosen to communicate the brand’s long standing image, combined with a solid silhouette of a horse to truly cement the company spirit.

The new branding also called for a redesign of their previous website so that their online and offline presence were instantly recognisable and consistent across all medias.

Again, Calm Digital were delighted when Redcar Racecourse got in touch to request developments to their current website. The team created a modern, fully responsive website that provided a clear and streamlined user journey, that was fully compatible with both mobile and tablet devices. With mobile having now superseded desktop at 51.20% market share (as opposed to desktop’s 44.66%*), this was an important step to take.

The integration of a new online ticketing system now allows users to purchase tickets in an effortless fashion in order to drive more ticket sales. The website also needed a simple way to feature upcoming events or race days and highlight the latest fixtures for that season.
