In society today a policy of corporate and social responsibility has increasingly become fundamental to developing a successful business. Unfortunately others within our industry who fail to fully understand their responsibilities to their clients fail to see the business benefit it brings with it, seeing accessibility as a source of additional revenue for creating ‘text only’ versions of existing web sites rather than a social responsibility. At Calm Digital web accessibility is a core attribute of our creative work and therefore not seen as a potential levy against our clients. 

Web accessibility is not about making dull, boring or text only websites just for people requiring assistive technology. It’s about being flexible in website design, considerate in structured web development, layout, naming alt tags, sensibly named links, sufficient contrast, relative font sizes, and flexible style sheets which allow as many users as possible to access information regardless of the way in which they browse the web.
